Vigil for Francis McIntosh

Actual date of this vigil TBD.

Francis McIntosh was a free person of color lynched by a mob in retaliation for his assault in self-defense of two ‘plain clothes’ police or slave patrollers on the St. Louis docks. Abducted from a nearby jail, he was tied to a nearby tree and members of the neighborhood fire company stacked wood at his feet, and he was burned alive as a crowd looked on.

A vigil will be held in remembrance of this event. Please Check Back for Additional Information Shortly…..
