On October 18, 2025 the St. Louis Community Remembrance Project will host a Historical Marker Dedication Ceremony to unveil the new historical marker that commemorates the January 17, 1894 lynching of John Buckner in Valley Park
Event Details
Date: October 18
Time: 10am-11am
Location: Lydia D. Buder Park North, next to the archery practice field.
Program: The program will include remarks from representatives of EJI, community organizations, and state & county officials, culminating with the unveiling of the historical marker.
Weather: Rain or shine, the ceremony will proceed! In the event of rain we will use a tent provided by St Louis County Parks & Rec.
